A study designed as a built in vanity within a bedroom, this client required a space that belonged to them and gave them clarity away from their family and quiet with the ability to work within a bedroom.

Understanding energy type

This client is a 4/6 Generator with Nervous digestion, someone whose environment doesn't just affect their mood, it affects their energy. Chaos, noise, and visual clutter have a genuine physiological cost. She needed a space that feels sheltered, warm, and intentional, because for her, how things feel in the body matters as much as how they look. When a Generator's space is right, they feel it before they can explain it.The starting point was clutter and objects competing for attention, making focused work almost impossible. What the client called minimal was never about stark or bare. It was a feeling: calm, edited, and purposeful. That became the translation brief for everything that followed.

Understanding her Human Design blueprint
L · Listen to Your Space
Honouring what she has expressed: echo, coldness, longing for warmth
O · Orchestrate with Soul

THE CHALLENGE

A vanity-turned-desk with no room to breathe, a mirror wall that overstimulates instead of anchors, and an evening setup that forces a full reset every time your partner is nearby. The brief: redesign a cramped, chaotic workspace into a calm, functional home office that supports deep focus during the day and transitions effortlessly at night, no friction, no compromise.

the transformation

Materials: Removable frosted film to neutralise the vanity mirror, a surface extension to reclaim desk width, and a flexible storage unit positioned behind the desk to absorb sound and create a soft boundary from the sleeping area.Intention: To ground an overstimulated space, make room to actually work, and draw a quiet line between where you rest and where you focus.
